OUR WORK IN SUPPORT OF BIODIVERSITY

Cercatori di Semi, a nonprofit organization, aims to protect agrobiodiversity through various projects, such as cultivating and preserving local heirloom seeds in our seed bank and subsequently distributing them free of charge. We also believe in educating people about biodiversity conservation and sustainable agriculture, which is why we organize meetings in schools and publish free guides with techniques for properly producing your own seeds.

With the Melissa project we promote the cultivation of the Greater Widow (Cephalaria Transylvanica) in a mixture with other honey bees to benefit bees and other pollinators (pollinators) by providing free seeds of this species, also produced on our estate on the outskirts of Rome. AFTER THE STOP DUE TO THE CONSEQUENCES OF COVID, WE ARE ABOUT TO CONTINUE THE MELISSA PROJECT CLICK BELOW FOR MORE INFO.

The Seekers' Estate

We help bees by producing and distributing free seeds of the Greater Widow (Cephalaria Transylvanica) and other bee-saving plants, in carefully researched and tested mixtures. Learn more about this important and widely followed project.

We produce seeds and then store them in our seed bank. It's increasingly stocked every year. Learn how seeds are processed, the process, and the secrets to becoming a Seed Hunter.

All the ancient Italian varieties from our seed bank are given away free of charge.

We periodically open windows according to our possibilities, furthermore at the estate both ready seedlings and seeds of local varieties are distributed, we inform you via newsletter or on social media

Through free meetings, we bring biodiversity education to primary schools. For years, our schools project has provided free materials such as seeds, potting trays, and other teaching materials. More information is available at the link below.

We prepare free guides to share highly sustainable cultivation techniques and to produce and preserve seeds. Registration is not required, and they are free from viruses and spam.
