Egg Tree (Solanum Melongena)

Eggplant (Solanum Melongena) : a variety of eggplant that is a real botanical curiosity.

The unusual fruits resemble eggs, which is exactly the size of eggs. They are milky white when immature, turning an almost golden yellow when ripe. The beautiful blue flowers with yellow stamens will fill vegetable gardens and balconies in spring. They're perfect for pots.

The fruits are edible, but it's a real shame to remove them from the plant. Sow in spring, very productive.
