Santa Vittoria Watermelon (Citrullus lanatus): ancient variety from the Emilia Romagna region, it is particularly suitable for clayey soils, where it is selected (Santa Vittoria, Novellara area). The plant is vigorous, it takes a planting space of 2,5 mt between rows, and 2 mt between plants; the production is not exceptional, about 3/4 fruits per plant that get to 8-10 kilograms, sometimes more. The pulp is red, sweet and crunchy. Perfect for those who don't have the ideal sandy soil suitable for these cucurbits, and for those who want to save an Italian heirloom.
