Dragon Carrot ( Daucus carota )

Dragon Purple Carrot (Daucus Carrot):  this Purple carrot bears the legacy of the oldest carrots, in fact , those "original" ones  from the east were purple.

The dragon is a fascinating root in both, name and appearance: it has vibrant purple skin, dark pulp - that sometimes turns into orange shades- it is heartless, and very tender. Rich in antioxidants and a bit spicy. Like all carrots it is biennial, so to save the seeds it is necessary to wait for the spring after sowing.
