Napa Cabbage (Brassica rapa sub. Pekinensis)

Napa Cabbage (Brassica rapa sup. Pekinensis): This ancient Chinese cabbage is also called Michihili the first certain records date from 1400 but it was certainly cultivated for centuries in the region of the blue river, the Yangtze. Then it was distributed in Korea, later in Australia, the Americas and to a lesser extent, Europe. It can be sown in both, Spring and Autumn, in the warmer areas (center-south) it can be sown all year round. The taste is intense, it can be consumed raw in salads or even cooked in soups.
