Verona Violet Cabbage (Brassica oleracea):  this  ancient variety of  large, late cabbage displays a beautiful mottled purple, and it's prized for its intense taste. Cultivation does not require special attention, however, it suffers from intense heat and drought, which should be considered at the moment of sowing: in the north and where the season is shorter, it can be done from May, whereas in the South, from July until late September. The plant is not hurt by frost, it actually improves its organoleptic characteristics. It is a late variety that takes about 150 days from emergence, which occurs a couple of weeks after sowing (always in seedbed). The rich area for planting is 70cm  between the plants, and 70cm between the rows, which will allow a correct development of the plants. The heads are of important size: around  3 kilograms. The cabbages can be stored in the freezer for about 12 months.
