Aldeno cucumber (Cucumis sativus)
Aldeno cucumber (Cucumis sativus): a traditional cucumber variety that perfectly fits the definition of a local variety: selected in the far north of Italy, in the province of Trento, specifically in the municipality of Aldeno, from which it takes its name. Productive and hardy, it ripens early (about 85 days after transplanting), is not overly vigorous, is less temperature-sensitive, and produces longer than many varieties of the species. We found no significant differences between full sun and partial shade cultivation. The light green fruits are medium-sized, reaching 25 cm in length. This variety is best suited to the most challenging climates.
