Kaiser Alexander Cucumber (Cucumis Sativus)
Kaiser Alexander cucumber (Cucumis sativus) : an ancient and very early variety, originating from Russia or Germany, it produces fruits up to 20 cm long and of a mottled brown colour.
The flesh is crisp and the flavor is delicate and sweet. This plant tolerates cold better than other cucumbers thanks to its thick, tough skin, which protects it from pests and allows it to be stored for a long time even after harvest, provided it is stored in a cool, dry place.
The plant is vigorous and productive, moderately resistant to fungal diseases, it is recommended to grow it as a climber, it requires supports adequate for the weight that the numerous fruits reach.
To eat, harvest it when it reaches 15-18 cm, before the skin becomes hard. To obtain the seeds, leave a few on the plant until they are fully ripe.
