  • Coppery Onion from Milano (Allium cepa): this traditional variety from Lombardia is highly appreciated, its pulp is white, compact, and sweet, it has a good size and excellent shelf life. It is a long-dayvariety : it is sown in winter/spring for spring cultivation, it is harvested in summer and the consumption happens the following winter.  This variety is one of the most suitable for conservation however it is important to mind certain details; After harvest, it should be left to dry for a few days, directly on the ground or, if the quantity allows it, on a table. It should be storaged in a ventilated, cool, and especially dark  room, since the absence of light inhibits germination.  To prevent it from rotting, it is useful that they are storage in a way they each have its own space and do not touch each other. It is a bit of estra work that will be rewarded with a great product throughout the winter.
