Details
Lemon Watermelon (Citrullus lanatus): a rarity from overseas, an incredible small watermelon, the fruits have a diameter of 15/20 cm, completely yellow, pulp and skin. The latter is very fine, reason why it easily reaches the kg of weight. The pulp is crunchy, with few seeds and the typical taste of yellow watermelons: sweet, not too much, with a touch of exotic, reminiscent of pineapple. The cultivation is quite simple, the plant is not very vigorous, allowing for a smaller planting space (70 cm between plants and 100 between rows), it doesn't need trimming and it is early, about 70 days after transplantation. It is sown in April and it is possible, in the South Centre, to get two consecutive harvests. It's useless to say that it has an amazing effect on the table, a dessert that will be the topic of conversation. Warning: its rarity and incredible colour might make you think it is a hybrid or an F1: absolutely not, like all the varieties on this site it is stable and reproducible.
