Moon and Star Watermelon (Citrullus lanatus) : An ancient variety cultivated by the Amish communities, it's visually striking! The fruit, with its dark green rind covered in bright yellow dots, resembles a starry sky with a large moon. The fruits range from 45 to 60 cm in length and weigh 8 to 10 kg.
This variety and the yellow-fleshed variety are grown by the Amish without the use of electricity, so they require little water and are particularly hardy. They produce good yields per plant.
