Orangeglo watermelon (Citrullus lanatus)
Orangeglo Watermelon (Citrullus lanatus): an extraordinary variety from overseas, a strong, vigorous, and particularly productive plant. The beautiful, bright orange flesh of the fruit has a sweet, nuanced flavor. Easy to grow, it's perfect even for beginners. The plant's particularly hardy nature will forgive you for any mistakes; it tends not to "break" when subjected to water stress, thanks to its thick rind, which also allows for good storage after harvest. It requires a large space, and takes up more space than common varieties. While it's not among our oldest varieties—it appeared in a catalog in 1965—it's among our favorites and recommended, and we're sure you'll be thrilled. Ready in 85 days.
