Royal Golden Watermelon (Citrullus Ianatus) : A beautiful variety with golden skin. The slightly ribbed fruits, almost resembling a pumpkin, reach 11 kg and turn a bright yellow tending towards gold when ripe. The red flesh is sweet, crunchy, and contains few seeds. Easy to grow because, being early, it's the first watermelon to ripen in the garden, requiring less care. Be careful : the leaves, like the fruit, turn yellow; this is normal, as are the seeds, which are white.
This variety was selected in Texas around the 1960s, while in Europe it is quite rare.
