The first thing that strikes you is the beauty of this gigantic fruit: the pale skin hides a bright orange pulp with large white seeds. Then you'll be amazed by the flavor: it's fragrant, with a sweet, citrusy flavor, rich in nuances, a prized and rare variety. The thick skin ensures it keeps well after harvest, making it suitable for small-scale retail trade.
In the field, the plant is vigorous; pruning it after fruit set helps improve the already high quality of the fruit and helps fight plant diseases.
When ripe it does not tend to break but it is still good practice to pay attention to irrigation when close to harvesting.
In terms of productivity, flavour and shelf life, this is one of the best watermelons for home-grown produce.
