Purple Spider Cosmos (Cosmos bipinnatus): We grew this cosmos primarily for the restaurant industry. The flowers of the bipinnatus species were the first to be consumed and sought after. Now we also grow it for the sheer pleasure of seeing it: its flowers, among the largest of the cosmos, resemble many elegant, colorful spiders. It may seem strange, but the effect of the completely purple flowers appearing on the plant is extremely pleasing, attracting attention from afar.
