Pink Hopi Bean (Phaeolus Vulgaris)
Pink Hopi Bean (Phaeolus vulgaris): beautiful climbing beans selected by the Hopi in the arid lands of Northern Arizona. This early-maturing plant requires little water and soil, and is highly productive. The white flowers are followed by numerous pods containing medium-sized, completely pink beans with very fine skins and are particularly digestible. This cultivar is rare even in its native areas, and is a must-have for a sustainable and, why not, unique garden.
This ancient and rare cultivar is ideal for children's workshops. The beautiful pink seeds germinate quickly, so children won't get bored. The plant grows vigorously, keeping their attention and curiosity high. Finally, its exceptional hardiness means the young grower can be forgiven for any lapses in care. In our free workshops for elementary schools, this is one of the varieties children can choose to sow.
