  • Hopi Purple Striped Bean (Phaseolus vulgaris): A traditional bean of the Hopi Native American people of peace, the "Maawiw'ngwu" is a purple climbing bean with black crescent-shaped stripes, but it can also appear darker. The plant is highly productive and particularly hardy, easy to grow, and produces excellent yields. It is not particularly demanding when it comes to soil and tolerates high temperatures very well, even during fruit set, making it suitable for very hot climates.
