Details
Hopi Black Dye Sunflower (Helianthus annuus): another precious gem from our "Hopi" selection. This important variety is used by the People of Peace to make dye for wicker baskets and ceremonial rattles made from the Hopi Rattle gourd. The large plant produces a single flower followed by smaller ones. The jet-black seeds give the variety its name. A rare and magnificent flower, it is also known for its strong melliferous properties.
The seeds are edible like common sunflowers.
