Mexican Sunflower (Tithonia rotundifolia)
LANCIO SACCHETTI DI NATALE
Mexican Sunflower (Tithonia rotundifolia): an exceptional, hardy, and highly ornamental flower. This plant, over two meters tall, blooms for a long time, producing an enormous quantity of fiery red "daisies." The branches tend to spread out toward the sides, creating a truly stunning fan effect. Grow a row of these in your garden and you'll produce more. They're a real attraction for pollinators of all kinds; if hummingbirds were around, they'd come too.
This exceptionally beautiful flower is part of Aridocoltura's research, in which we experiment with drought-resistant and low-maintenance flower varieties to attract more pollinators to gardens cultivated with minimal water resources.
