Red Spade Lettuce (Lactuca longifolia)

Red Spade lettuce (Lactuca longifolia): we are proud to offer this variety of red lettuce from Trentino. Very rare stalk lettuce (the leaves are also consumed) with an intense, very pleasant taste, the stalk is large, compact, fragrant, inviting. The head develops vertically up to 60-70 cm, the leaves are narrow, pointed, bright green with burgundy crests and tips. It has no special needs, grows quickly, it has exceptional tolerance to low temperatures and tolerates high temperatures well, slow to produce seeds. We are collecting information on the history and origins of this cultivar, once found we will distribute the seeds free of charge in the areas to which they belong.
