Mitoyo Eggplant (Solanum melongena)

Mitoyo Eggplant (Solanum melongena): A delicious eggplant from Japan. Grown in the area from which it takes its name, the plant produces large, completely black fruits, right down to the stalk. The plant is not very productive but ripens early, but its flavor is what makes it special; it is undoubtedly the tastiest eggplant you will ever try. The flesh is white and firm, excellent in any preparation, and particularly suitable for catering.
