Bellegarde Melon (Cucumis melo): ancient cantaloupe to pay homage to France and its cuisine. It first appears in the catalogue "Les Plantes Potagères" of 1885. The fruits slightly exceed the kilogram, they have thin slightly warty skin, and they're flat at the poles. The pulp is typical of cantaloupe, it displays a beautiful orange colour, sweet, its aroma is soft persistent, but non-invasive. A real "old-timey".
