  • Charentais Cantaloupe Melon (Cucumis melo): When we think of melons, the Cantaloupe variety certainly comes to mind. This early cultivar, ready in eighty days, keeps well after picking, and the reticulated rind that protects the fruit allows even the less experienced to make small mistakes in determining the correct ripeness. The fruit weighs just over a kilogram. The orange flesh is juicy and fragrant, reminiscent of the most classic melon flavor with its characteristic aroma. It can be sown from April to June and harvested about 70 days after transplanting.
