Tigger Melon (Cucumis melo): rare heirloom believed to be from Armenia, it is not very commercial, mainly grown in home gardens by enthusiasts of melons. Its name is pronounced as the one from the beloved Winnie the Pooh’s character, however it is also known as Tiger Melon in honour the beautiful feline, the one characteristic the three of them share is each individual possess unique colour and pattering. The plant is vigorous, productive and has a climbing habit; the fruits reach 1lb and are intoxicatingly aromatic, while their taste remains well balanced. Their texture and flavour makes them suitable for different preparation and recipes, sweet and savoury. The one heirloom that should never be missing from a gardening lover, and from a foodie table!
