Zatta Melon (Cucumis melo)

Zatta melon (Cucumis melo): along with the Moscatello, this melon (also called "Rospo" due to its wrinkled skin) is among the oldest Italian melons; both are documented as early as the 17th century. The fruit is large, bulbous, and ribbed. The flesh is orange and fragrant, with an earthier flavor and less sweet than modern cantaloupe.
