Naga Viper (Capsicum chinense): Extremely spicy variety created from a selection of Naga Morich, Bhut Jolokia and Trinidad Scorpion by the Chilli Pepper Company, an English company.
It set the World Record in February 2011 with an average of 1,382,118 Scovilles, making it still one of the hottest chili peppers in the world. This variety had some early problems due to its unstable nature, but today all the products are reasonably consistent, elongated in shape, with wrinkled skin and a distinctive tip. The flavor is fruity and penetrating. A cultivar for connoisseurs, the best of the naga.
