Cayenne Pepper (Capsicum annuum)
LANCIO SACCHETTI DI NATALE
Cayenne Pepper (Capsicum annuum): many have heard of it and tried it as a spice, purchased perharps in powder or dried whole, but few have seen it in their garden. The plant is extraordinarily beautiful, thanks to the long peppers that emerge in large numbers from amongst the leaves; about 10 cm long or more, they display a beautiful vibrant red color inviting to bite into them, but that would be a mistake, as they are very, very hot, up to 100,000 SHU. Although grown throughout the world, even used in Asian cuisine, they retain the flavor and strength of the wild lands of their origin: French Guiana.
Highly productive, tasty, and fragrant: grow it and produce this famous spice yourself.
