Manganji Amatou is a green pepper grown in Ayabe, Maizuru, and Fukuchiyama, in the Kyoto area. It is mild and used exclusively for its edible flesh. The name Manganji Amatou was coined in 1998 by the Manshin Temple in Maizuru and has become the trademark for Manganji chili peppers, originally produced in Maizuru.
