Seven Pot Primo Pepper (Capsicum chinense): Let's play a little. Primo Pepper is an American grower who became famous for his dispute with Smokin' Ed of the Puckerbutt Company, breeder of the infamous, Guinness World Record-holding Carolina Reaper pepper, now surpassed by the same company's Pepper X. In short, Ed was accused of "stealing" the Seven Pot Primo to develop the Carolina Reaper. This story went on for a long time, but it was clearly a hoax. He had already claimed to have selected peppers hotter than the Reaper before even submitting it for analysis by the WGR, which at the time was held by the Tridad Scorpion Butch Taylor (and not the Moruga Scorpion, as many believe). We're still offering you the yellow version of the Seven Pot Primo, because the red one would be too similar to the Carolina Reaper.
Having explained this, let's see how it performs in the field: a vigorous, late-ripening plant, extremely productive like all Chinese berries, with a pungent core that borders on edible. We dry it and make a beautiful yellow powder that we use very sparingly.
Use extreme caution when handling it, wear gloves, glasses and a mask.
Start early in a warm seedbed at 20°C.
