Takanotsume chili pepper (Capsicum annuum)
LANCIO SACCHETTI DI NATALE
Takanotsume chili pepper (Capsicum annuum): Japanese chili pepper varieties are generally not overly spicy, but this one is an exception. The plant's growth and flowers classify it as a Capsicum annuum, but its flavor is also atypical: it lacks the peppery odor that characterizes cultivars of this species (here we find the Japanese flavor); it is particularly spicy at 30,000 to 100,000 SHU, sometimes reaching twice that level. The plant grows to 80 cm tall and is not particularly productive, but its beautiful berries are highly decorative. These, clustered in scarlet red clusters of about 7 cm, tower at the top of the bush. Excellent in pots. For lovers of Japanese cuisine and collectors.
