Details
Cherokee Green Tomato (Lycopersicon lycopersicum): splendid beefsteak variety of amber green colour that keeps even when fully ripe, medium-large size, (300/500 gr), of extraordinary full taste. To all intents and purposes it is a variant of the Cherokee Purple, another fabulous tomato, stabilized in 1997 by antique tomato collector Craig LeHoullier. Its qualities are similar to those of the Cherokee purple, firm pulp, steak-like, balanced acidity and complex nuances. The plant is indeterminate, not too early, first harvest will be about 3 months after transplantation. Although it is not properly an heirloom variety, because it is less than 50 years old, the minimum age for acquiring the epithet according to the US Seeds Saver. It is the green tomato that I love the most, for the extraordinary texture that allows for it to be breaded and fried, and you know, everything is great fried. To be loved.
