Coeur de Pigeon tomato (L. lycopersicum): the "pigeon heart" tomato, so called for its distinctive shape, is beloved in France and, we're sure, by anyone who grows it. This indeterminate plant is very productive; within 75 days of transplanting, it will produce abundant bunches of pear-shaped yellow cherry tomatoes, with a creamy texture and a sweet flavor without a hint of acidity, a caress on the palate. Having a lot of yellow cherry tomatoes in our garden, we were hesitant to grow this one, but fortunately we gave in at the insistence of a French chef friend now living in Italy. He was right, it's a marvel.
