Giant Sirian Tomato (Lycopersicon lycopersicum)
FINE STAGIONE
Syrian Giant Tomato (Lycopersicon lycopersicum): We've been growing this tomato for many years, always using it for self consumption. It's a beefsteak tomato that weighs between 500 gr and a kg, with full, watery flesh and few seeds. A pink salad tomato, it has a balanced, fresh taste. Compared to other giants, it's very productive; however, the indeterminate plant is very vigorous, and the axillary shoots need to be pruned frequently. It also requires suitable supports to support the plant and its numerous fruits. This year, we had a chef (and a dear friend) try it, whose maternal grandmother was from Syria. He was impressed, and we'll be distributing the seeds in her honor.
Suitable for those who love summer salads and enjoy spending time in the garden.
