Korrogo du Senegal Tomato (Lycopersicon lycopersicon)

  • Senegal Korrogo tomato (Lycopersicon lycopersicum): in the first years of cultivation we underestimated this ecotype (you can see it in the photos), inconspicuous and medium-sized, with a good flavor but without any real sparkle. Then came the hot, dry summers, the experiments with dryland farming, and we completely changed our minds.
It's a medium-small ribbed tomato, weighing 60-90 grams, with a sweet flavor and moderately juicy texture. It's suitable for a variety of uses, from sauces to raw consumption. Free from blossom-end rot, it requires very little water, loves full sun, and is perfectly acclimated to hot summers. Where other tomatoes have visibly suffered, the corrogo has thrived, providing excellent production even under stressful conditions. It has excellent resistance to plant diseases.
As mentioned, the flavor is sweet but not excessive, it does not have the intensity typical of older tomatoes, on the other hand it is a real tank.
Last but not least, it keeps well after picking, a rare characteristic in ribbed vegetables.
Ready in 75 days from transplant.
A variety to choose for those who grow in difficult conditions, for those who are experimenting with new agricultural techniques, Corrogo will "forgive" any errors that experimentation inevitably brings.
