Sweet Tangerine Tomato (Lycopersicon lycopersicum)
LANCIO SACCHETTI DI NATALE
Sweet Tangerine tomato (Lycopersicon lycopersicum): a variety with smooth, thin skin and a bright orange color. Although not exceptionally large, the berries weigh between 200 and 300 grams; it is considered a "beefsteak" tomato due to its shape and dense, fleshy texture. Its pulp is low in acid and has a complex, spicy yet sweet flavor, particularly fragrant. The berry has few seeds and a high carotene content, at the expense of lycopene, making it more suitable for those who normally struggle with common tomatoes. The plant is determined, highly productive, and compact, reaching a height of about one and a half meters. Disease- and drought-tolerant, though not immune to blossom-end rot, it tolerates water stress well, depending on the size of the berries. It is the earliest-ripening of the "beefsteak" varieties, making it a suitable choice where low temperatures are problematic or for late planting. Ready in 70 days from transplant.
