Yugoslavian Yasha Tomato (Lycopersicon Lycopersicum L.)
LANCIO SACCHETTI DI NATALE
Yugoslavian Yasha Tomato (Lycopersicon Lycopersicum L.): varieties selected in "difficult" places, not only in terms of climate but also in terms of human intervention, are often the hardiest, least subject to plant diseases, and, thanks to their distance from commercial channels, have great flavour.
This large ox heart, preserved for years throughout the sometimes dark history of Vojvodina, a region of Serbia, is no exception.
The vigorous, indeterminate plant is robust and productive even under difficult conditions. The distinctive heart-shaped berries, weighing nearly a kilogram, are particularly resistant to cracking, and will provide healthy fruit even in the event of sudden rains or a forgotten pump (tomatoes typically split when over-watered near ripening).
The pulp is firm, suitable for salads and excellent between two slices of bread.
Since it is not very watery, it is also suitable for breading and frying.
Yasha is certainly the best among the oxheart strains in terms of ease of cultivation, even suitable for beginners.
85 days after transplant.
