Hida Beni Turnip (Brassica rapa)

Hida Beni Turnip (Brassica rapa): beautiful, large and crunchy, this Japanese turnip holds a beautiful red skin and pink pulp (depending on temperature and terrain). At the beginning of the 20th century  it was selected from a variety that has now disappeared in the mountain prefecture of Gifu. It tolerates the cold well and is slow to seed, easy to grow (like all turnips). We don't need to go into much detail since it is a variety for those who are interested in Japanese culinary culture and we do not find any particularities that make unique but it is an excellent turnip, like many others.
