Mountain Savory/Satureja (Satureja montana): compared to the common Santoreggia, Mountain is perennial, it does not suffer intense cold, as long as the soil is well draining. The leaves are more leathery and the taste, is very similar, with a more balsamic scent.
It is easy to cultivate, can be planted in full sun, it does not need irrigation except for long droughts. It is sown in spring until September, in the South it would be advisable to avoid the hottest months.
