Toloache (Datura Inoxia)

Toloache (Datura inoxia): straight from Castaneda's books, the Mexican datura, the datura of shamans. The plant is perennial unless exposed to frost. It grows over a meter tall and produces beautiful white flowers with hooked petals that remain open for a few hours. These flowers produce the fruit, the size of a golf ball, with spiny but soft thorns. They dry on the pinta, turning light brown and containing numerous seeds. All parts of the pinta are rich in alkaloids and highly toxic.
