Beretta Piacentina Pumpkin (Cucurbita Maxima)
"Beretta Piacentina" squash (Cucurbita maxima): A typical Northern Italian squash, known as Bertina due to its flattened fruit, it is large, weighing up to 8 kilograms. The rind ranges from lead green to gray, is thick and leathery, and ensures a long shelf life that easily survives the winter. Harvesting should be done with part of the stem left on. The yellow-orange flesh is high in sugar, firm, and non-fibrous, making it ideal for gnocchi, soups, and creamed soups. It doesn't like very cold climates and has high water requirements. The planting pattern is one plant per square meter.
