  • Shishigatani squash (Cucurbita moschata): A true rarity from 19th-century Japan: a small squash with a huge flavor. The fruits are hourglass-shaped, with warty skin, deep green when developing and turning a beautiful pink when ripe. The flesh is firm, slightly fibrous, sweet, and has a hazelnut-like flavor. This squash is widely used in shojin ryori cuisine.   traditional Buddhist vegetarian.
It is not particularly demanding in terms of soil or irrigation, the plant is in fact not vigorous and the fruits do not exceed 3 kg, but remember that like all cucurbitaceae a good supply of phosphorus and potassium helps to improve its flavour, you can help yourself with the free guide for growing pumpkins that you can find at the following link: www.cercatoridisemi.com/guide-gratuite
