Sicilian White Zucchini (Cucurbita pepo)

Sicilian White Zucchini (Cucurbita pepo): an ancient traditional Sicilian variety, easy to grow, highly productive, and early. Zucchini are large (up to 35 cm tall), with thin, pale green skin and a slightly leathery texture. The flesh is the most important part, sweet and with an excellent consistency that holds up well to cooking. Like the Pantesca zucchini, which you'll find starting in September, a specialty of the island.
