Tlacolula Tomato (Lycopersicon lycopersicum)
Tlacolula Tlacolutla (Lycopersicon lycopersicum): Tlacolula Tomato (Lycopersicon lycopersicum): this heirloom tomato comes from Tlacolula of Matamoros in the profitable region of Oaxaca, in Mexico (like the Oaxacan green corn).
It has a very unusual ribbed pear shape, it is not too sweet, it is special for raw consumption.
The plant is undeterminate (more than a meter) enjoys full sun exposure, and, unlike other ribbed tomatoes of the same size (150 gm/berry) does not suffer from apical rot under water stress.
You will find several tomatoes with this characteristic on the site, we believe it is important for the purposes of sustainability and the success of cultivation, even for those who work with alternative techniques.
It doesn't do well i low temperatures, and has indeterminate growth so it needs support.
Atention: very often the Tlacolula, also by big producers, is confused with the Zapotec mexican ribbed variety pear-shaped , the Tlacolula differentiates because of its longer "neck".
